Test Overview
In this ballistic gel test, I analyze the effectiveness of the 223 Remington 64gr Winchester Power Point bullet for deer-sized game. Using a Diamondback DB 15 with an 18″ barrel, I shoot into 10% ballistic gel from Clear Ballistics, providing consistent results for evaluation.
Why Ballistic Gel?
While ballistic gel doesn’t perfectly replicate animal performance, it’s an excellent medium for comparing various cartridges systematically. This allows for better understanding of how different hunting ammunition behaves.
